Daniel Koussou Chukwuka Named for DLLPS Conferment by IHS-BiRD & L
Abuja, Nigeria — The Institute for Historical Studies, Biographical Research, Documentation and Legacy (IHS-BiRD & L) has named Daniel Koussou Chukwuka for conferment of the Distinguished Legacy Laureate of Public Service (DLLPS), Enterprise and Economic Service Division, in recognition of his contributions to enterprise development, energy-sector participation, and economic diplomacy within Nigeria and across Africa.
The decision follows a comprehensive institutional assessment conducted in accordance with the Institute’s honours framework, which evaluates prospective recipients on the basis of documented service, leadership, measurable impact, and sustained contributions to societal and economic advancement.
Daniel Koussou Chukwuka, a petroleum engineer and Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Dau-o Gik Oil and Gas Limited, has been recognised for his contributions to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector and for his engagement in initiatives promoting investment, trade cooperation, and sustainable energy development.
The Institute noted that under his leadership, Dau-o Gik Oil and Gas Limited has developed operational interests across segments of the hydrocarbons value chain, including oil and gas advisory services, refined product marketing, midstream logistics support, and gas processing advisory.
In addition to his enterprise activities, the Institute highlighted his engagement in economic diplomacy and continental development initiatives. He currently serves within the BIGWIL International Community of CEOs and Diplomatic Forum under the International Human Rights Observatory – Africa (IHRO-AFRICA), where he chairs the Committee on Economic Diplomacy, Trade and Investment for the Nigeria chapter.
The Institute also referenced his nomination as African Union Special Envoy on Oil and Gas (Continental) under the framework of Agenda 2063, the African Union’s long-term development blueprint focused on industrialisation, economic integration, and sustainable development across the continent.
According to the Institute, his activities contribute to broader discussions surrounding energy security, indigenous enterprise participation, cross-border investment cooperation, and Africa’s strategic engagement within global energy and trade systems.
Speaking on the development, the Institute stated that the award under the Enterprise and Economic Service Division recognises individuals whose enterprise activities and economic engagements generate measurable public value through sectoral participation, investment expansion, and institutional leadership.
“This recognition reflects a documented pattern of enterprise-oriented leadership and economic engagement within the energy sector and related diplomatic initiatives,” the Institute noted. “His activities illustrate an emerging model of enterprise-driven public service connected to energy development, investment dialogue, and continental economic participation.”
The Institute further emphasised that contemporary contributions within enterprise and economic diplomacy are frequently underdocumented within Nigeria’s historical and institutional records, reinforcing the importance of preserving such trajectories through structured documentation and archival recognition.
The Distinguished Legacy Laureate of Public Service (DLLPS) is one of the Institute’s highest honours and is conferred upon individuals whose work demonstrates regional, national, or professional distinction in advancing enterprise systems, economic participation, institutional development, and societal progress.
