Benue State Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Scholastica Ben-Sor, Named Distinguished Legacy Laureate of Public Service
Abuja, Nigeria ā The Institute for Historical Studies, Biographical Research, Documentation and Legacy (IHS-BiRD & L) has approved the conferment of the Distinguished Legacy Laureate of Public Service (DLLPS) ā Social Development and Gender Inclusion Division upon Scholastica Terngu Ben-Sor, Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Benue State, and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in the state.
The decision was reached following a comprehensive review of her documented record of public service and her contributions to social welfare administration, women empowerment, vulnerable group support, public health advocacy, and the coordination of social intervention programmes in Benue State.
The Distinguished Legacy Laureate of Public Service is among the Institute's highest honours and is reserved for individuals whose service has created measurable public value and whose contributions merit preservation within Nigeria's historical and institutional memory.
According to the Institute, her stewardship of coordinating the Office of the First Lady in Benue State has ensured the continuity of social intervention programmes targeted at women, children, senior citizens, persons living with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable populations.
The Institute further observed that her work demonstrates how public institutions can adapt to unique governance circumstances while maintaining effective service delivery and measurable impact on citizens.
